We are the pupils of 6 B Year , the new pen friends of” Constantin Platon” School from Bacau. We are the ones who will be in touch with you instead of our older schoolmates of 8 Year B.
This is our first e-mail for you and we would be very happy to be your pen friends from Bacau-Romania. We are sending you a photo of our class and we would like to introuduce ourselves to you.
The first desk: Cezar and Leonard
The second desk: Alexandru-Ionut and Iustin
The third desk: Ana -Maria and Andreea-Francesca
The fourth desk: Cosmin and Alexandru
The rest of the children are our class mates. We are the ones who wrote the 15 questions about Romania for you , together some of the children of 5th Year B.
On the 9th of May we will celebrate Europe Day and we will think of you! We will write and answer to your e-mails.
We are sending a very big wave from Romania where the Spring is so nice!

This is the music the children in Scoala Constantin Platon have chosen for our European Day celebration. They think that it represents their country very well. Ciprian Porumbescu (1853 – 1883) is a Romania composer born at Sibot, Suceava county (northern Moldavia). He was one of the most famous precursors of Romanian music.

Collège Saint Charles will celebrate European Day on 9th May, and we would like to invite you to participate in our special project. If you would like to be part of this, we will need the following from you:
1) 15 questions about your country (very *easy* ones please, because the classes involved will be 6e and 4e!)
2) A typical recipe from your country (something sweet we can make and taste).
3) A piece of music you think best represents your country (traditional, folk or simply the national anthem).
Other schools participating in this project are from Italy and Germany, and we will also add questionaries about Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Spain, Great Britain and France.
We need to receive the above before the end of April, so that should give you plenty of time. What do you say?

The 1st of March is a very Special Holiday in Romania.
This is the day when we welcome the coming of Spring in a special way. This is a very old tradition in our country, it is the day when people wish each other helth and happiness and exchange a little amulette tied up with a red and white silk threads. Thes ones can be worn on their clothes ,on their wrist ,like a bracelet. Boys and girls who like each other also offer to each other or exchange these charms.
There are so many legends, fairy tales about the origin and the custom of this wonderful custom which is very old, from many centuries ago.One of this legend is about a brave young and brave Prince and a very beautiful Princess . The red means the blood shed by the brave Prince an it is a sign of strength and life . The life symbolises the purity of the Princess . The Flowers we have to offer to the ones we love on this day are the Snowdrops, together with this MARTISOR.
We are preparing some MARTISOARE for you, to be sent by post. You will receive them soon!

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your message and because you let us know your favourites singers and bands.
As you, we listen to music all of the time ,excepting the moments when we are at school,but I want to be sincere and sometimes we listen to it even when we go out from school, on our way back homes. But, you know, that at home, at school our free time is not so long and both our parents and our teachers do not allow us doing it so much. The same it happens with our time spent in front of the computers, if we have them at home.
My classmatesprefer different types of music and different types of artists or instruments .
So, some of us prefer:
Rap: 50 Cent, Eminem,Ludacris,Snoop Dog, 2 Pac;
House: Dj.Tiesto, Benny Benassi ;
Dance/Pop/ Glem: Christina Aguilera ;
Rock: Green Day,Ramstein;
Metal: Morgul ;
Raggeton: Daddy Yankee ;
Other: Jokio Hotel, RBD, Queen, Guns’n Roses.
I personally prefer a different type of Metal which is either Doom or Black and I like to listen to some bands as: “My Dying Bride”, Apocalytice,Marilyn Manson, Moonspell , Burzum, Craddle of Fifth, Dimmu Borgir.
Our teachers like to listen to some Romantic music. Our form teacher, Mrs. Mereuta like Classical Music.
